Capital's Product page is designed to display your product images as effectively as possible, ensuring that your product information is easily legible and focus all the customer's attention on what you prefer to highlight.

You can also set up related products and recently viewed products blocks that help your customers quickly browse any other products they’re interested in.

Product pages can be adjusted quite a few different ways:

Product Item Settings

To access Capital’s product item settings, select Product item from the General settings tab of your theme settings.

You can adjust how products appear throughout your shop by using the product item settings.

If you sell many products from the same brand, or if you have many variants of the same item, these settings can enhance how customers browse your store and choose the items best for them.

Tip:

Some of the settings below depend on how you’ve set up both your Products and Collections, within the Shopify Admin Space.

To explain each option in more detail:

By default, brand names link to all to a brand page; a page listing all of the shop’s products with the same brand name. While this page is similar in layout to a collection page, it is without some of its functionality.

With this setting enabled, brand names link only to the current collection’s products, filtered by a tag equal to the selected brand name.

In this way, we’re able to retain the use of the filter sidebar, and remain within the context of the collection that your customer is viewing.

Enable color swatches

Enter the name of the product option you wish to turn into color swatches. This setting only affects products that have color variants set up. You need to enter the name of the configured product option (for example, Color) in order for color swatches to work properly.

Enable size swatches

Enter the name of the product option you wish to turn into size swatches. In most circumstances, you would insert the word Size here.

Note:

This only affects products with multiple size variants (like small, medium, and large sizes).

You need to enter the name of the configured product option (for example, Size) to work properly.

Show low stock indicator

To enable this setting, enter a number that defines low stock for your storefront's inventory.

The indicator only appears when the item’s stock is tracked in the Shopify admin and stock left is equal to or less than the number defined by this setting.

Product Content Settings

Most of these settings are located in the same settings area as above, under Product item.

However, if you want to add a related products block or a recently viewed products block, then you need to go to the Product content settings area.

In order to get there, you need to navigate to: 1. Admin 2. Online Store → Themes → Customise 3. Use the upper dropdown menu to select 'Product page.'

That way, the Product content area appears in the list of theme settings, and you can preview the changes you make to those settings right away.

The list is generated by any products that belong in the same collection as the selected product - if the item is not in a collection with other products, Capital will search for another product collection.

It goes through your collections alphabetically and picks the first collection with products in it and the all and Frontpage collections are skipped.R

Recently viewed products

Toggle displaying a recently viewed products block on each product page.

Toggle checkbox to enable the Recently viewed products.

This displays a list of products that the customer has recently looked at. In addition to seeing this section on product pages, you can enable it on the cart page from the Cart settings
